Below is a brief summary of SASPAC and Census activity for last month.

NEW table layouts

On Monday the 3rd March, NEW 2011 Census table layouts were announced by ONS for releases 3.6 and 4.6 (relating to travel to work data).

Release 3.6 included 20 Detailed Characteristic tables at local authority level.
and
Release 4.6 included 24 Local Characterstic tables at output area level.

Expecting new DATA

In April we are expecting to receive new data from both ONS and NRS. If this interests you please keep checking our blogs/tweets for updates for the latest info.


Training days have been a SUCCESS

This month has seen us provide Census training courses to:

  • ONS/Isle of Wight staff in Titchfield, Southampton;

  • two days in Falkirk to our users in Scotland;

  • one day at City Hall in London to various London Boroughs.

Census 2021

The FUTURE of the Census has just been announced and it looks like it's here to stay! If you would like to read more visit here but, in summary, after a programme of research and user consultation into options for the 2021 Census, recommendations have been made that an online census should be undertaken.

National Records of Scotland (NRS) have also announced they will be following a similar route, if you would like to read more about this announcement information can be found here. 1/4/14
